# Preparing a patch for multiple roles

The CloudIO platform allows you to create a patch for multiple roles at once.

To prepare a patch for multiple roles,

1. The **Navigation** page is displayed.

 2\. Under **Patch Manager**, click **Generate Application Patch**.

The **Generate Application Patch** page is displayed. This page displays a list of all the available roles along with their details.

 3\. From the roles list, select the required roles.

 4\. On the upper right corner, click **Prepare Patch.** A confirmation box is displayed.

 5\. Click **OK**.

The processing for your patch preparation request will be initialized.

**OR**

To view the details of the patch status, click **Go To Patches Screen** and click **Download**.

The list of patches that available for downloading is displayed.
